Dear Prospective RedSnook Sponsor:
Sportfishing sometimes seems like it’s not what it used to be. Red
tide, fish kills, mercury poisoning and pollution have become way too
common in our everyday lives.
As a native of Southwest Florida and a pro-angler for over 40 years,
I’ve personally witnessed the decline in our water quality and with it
the decline in abundant populations of fish.
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been tackling
environmental issues that threaten our quality of life and enjoyment of
sportfishing since 1964. The Conservancy had been focused on
creating a better environment for sportfishing by focusing on
research, advocacy and protection of our estuaries and
waterways. Their concerns as an environmental group include habitat
destruction, Western Everglades restoration and Lake O problems, to
name a few.
I am proud to be the spokesperson and a participant in both the 2007 and 2008 RedSnook Catch and Release Charity Tournament. I encourage you to participate as a major sponsor. Your support will help protect our waterways, our quality of life and the enjoyment of sport fishing...now and forever.
Bass regards,
Roland Martin
